Here comes a
small selection of neoclassic marvellous villas characterized by

Villa Olmo

Villa Balbianello
Balbiano’s residence originate as aristocratic Giovio’s family home,
in 1787 was bought by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini. On that small
pensinsula where already stand a church and a convent Cardinal
attracted from peerless view, one side Tremezzina or Venere Gulf,
other side Comacina island or Diana Gulf, decided to build an
elegant lodge with two halls, a library and a music hall. Both villa
and garden were enriched by subsequent owners with English and
French Style furniture and many art collections.
Villa Melzi
was
built between 1808 and 1810 by Giocondo Albertolli on Francesco
Melzi d’Eril assignment; he was Italian reign chancellor and
Napoleone’s friend. The Villa was originally a summer residence, in
neoclassic style as one of the beginning of eighteenth century.
Villa is whole surrounded by English style gardens that decrease to
the lake. Mostly neoclassic inside, keeps important art works, you
‘ll find decorated walls by Albertolli, painting by Appiani,
sculptures by Canova and Giuseppe Bossi’s frescos.
